Laverna Womack on Helping Those Less Fortunate
Laverna Womack is a mother of three and a PQI Trainer at the Newark Assembly Plant. Through her 13 ½ years of UAW involvement, Laverna has served on the community service committee, the Civil Rights Committee, the Women’s Committee, the Directors Club, and Vice Chair of the Credentials Committee (to name a few).
When asked what she liked best about being a member, Laverna said, “Being part of the Union has increased my interest in politics. I have seen how important it is to vote and be active and aware about laws Congress is trying to pass that could affect my livelihood as well as the livelihood of my neighbors.”
What have you learned from your UAW membership? Tell us your story.
